North Church Queens
"The Peace Church"

Our Sunday Morning Worship begins at 10:00 AM and usually concludes around 11:00 AM or shortly thereafter.  People start arriving and gathering for worship as early as 9:15 and some do not arrive until after worship has already started.  Attire ranges from ties and  dresses to sport shirts, shorts and slacks.

One might describe our worship as "folksy liturgical" or "low-church liturgical".  We generally follow an order of worship suggested by the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Book of Common Worship with some slight modifications.  On any given Sunday we will sing hymns and musical responses from the Presbyterian Hymnal usually accompanied by an organ; members of the congregation who have agreed ahead of time will read up to four assigned passages of Scripture; prayers will be printed in a worship folder; and our pastor will preach a 12-18 minute sermon and lead us in prayer.  The first Sunday of the month and at other times announced in advance we celebrate the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper (also known as Communion or the Eucahrist) and all baptized worshippers, regardless of age or denominational affiliation, are invited to participate.
