Theme:
The visual artist, through various mediums - paintings, photos, sculpture - can point us in different directions on behalf of peace. Submissions should emphasize the theme of Peace in any one or more of the following ways: family, school, community, workplaces, athletics, between and among nations, between and among cultures and religions.
Awards and Recognition: One winner per group (see below)
Selected works will be exhibited at North Church from April 20 - 22, 2012 as follows:
Friday, April 20th 3:00 – 8:00 pm
Saturday April 21st 3:00 – 6:00 pm
Sunday April 22nd 4:00 – 6: 00 pm, to coincide with Earth Day
Awards Reception: Saturday, April 21st, 2012, from 4:00 - 6:00 pm
Contest Categories:
Group I Children - Grades 1-8; Group II High School – Grades 9-12; Group III - Adults
Rules of Entry:
All entries must be 8” x 10” or larger, framed and ready for mounting. Limit of 3 submissions per contestant. Attach entry form to back of each submission. Pick up and removal of submissions will be on Sunday, April 2lst 6:00 – 7:00 pm or by appointment.
Deadline: All entries must be received by Saturday, April 7th – North Church Queens.
Winners and selected participants will be notified by April 10th.
